When you go to http://www.craigslist.org,
- then, click on your city of choice,
- then, in the UPPER LEFT corner, click on My Account.
Next, click the link where it says Don't have an account? Click here to sign up.
Input your email, type the secrity code, and click on Create Account. (Note, if you want to, create separate new email accounts JUST for your Craigslist posting. See Last Paragraphs, below, for more details.)
When they send you the confirmation email, click the link inside it,
- then, in the new window that opens, choose a password and login.
Next, in the upper right-hand corner, there is a drop-down menu to choose a city to post your ad in -- choose a city and then click the GO button.
Next, choose the category -- go with Service Offered
Next, choose the sub-category -- go with Small Biz Ads
That is where you will type in your unique subject line (Title) and your ad -- then, add spaces below your actual ad and copy/paste in your random text or a quote (be sure it's different for every ad you post).
Next, click Continue and see how it looks -- if needed, click Edit to make changes, or if okay, type in the security code and click Continue.
From there, you can post another ad....
To post in a different city, on that page, click in the UPPER-RIGHT CORNER on your email address, and you will be taken to a page where you can see your ad is listed in a table... as you post more ads, they will be listed there.
To choose another city to post your same ad to, go to the UPPER RIGHT CORNER and choose a new city from the drop-down menu and repeat the process with
- a UNIQUE subject line,
- the same actual basic ad (or you can also try varying the different elements of the same basic ad),
- and a UNIQUE quote or new random text after you add spaces down below your actual ad.
Re-Posting Your Ads....
Once you have completed placing your ads the first time, then in the future, you can just go to the Craigslist site and go to the My Account link in the UPPER-LEFT corner....
If you are working with multiple email accounts (see Last Paragraphs, below), be sure you are logged in for the email address you want to work with... there, you will see all your ads (which are posted in that Craigslist account tied to that email address) listed in a table.
After either 2 days or 3 days, you can RE-POST the ads, which brings them up to the TOP in the listings....
- Click on an ad and DELETE it, then click on Go to My Account Page...
- Click on the SAME ad that you just deleted, and you will be able to Re-Post it and not have to wait for an email with a link to click to make it go live.
WHEW... I sure hope this helps! I could spend hours and hours on this, but hopefully if you go through this one step at a time, you will be able to do this.
LAST PARAGRAPHS Mentioned Above:
When anyone talks about using MULTIPLE email accounts with Craigslist, it is because of the 2-3 day wait period to be able to delete and repost your ad so that it goes to the top of the list again....
You would basically use each separate email account to register for separate CRAIGSLIST accounts, too, and duplicate all the ads for the different cities you post to within each separate CRAIGSLIST account....
Then go to each of the different CRAIGSLIST accounts on different days to DELETE and RE-POST your ads, and just rotate through the different accounts, in order on different days. (Again, remember each Craigslist account is tied to a different email account.)
That way, your ads will be re-posted to the top of the listings every day that you re-post them from one of your different, multiple accounts.
There are many reasons ads can get deleted, but DUPLICATE CONTENT and DUPLICATE LINKS within the ads are "the BIGGIES."
